We have been working with partners for many months on the Future Finance Poland (FFP) project that aims to build and strengthen the Polish financial center. As part of FFP, coordination, and cooperation mechanisms are first being developed to support the development of the financial center in the regulatory, technological, and business areas. One of the elements of this unique project is also the annual Future Finance Summit. Its first edition was held on December 5 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The event was attended by more than 300 guests from Poland and abroad. The topics of the conference were divided into two parts. Issues stemming from the Future Finance Poland strategy were discussed on the main stage. Thus, discussions about solutions for the financial sector based on artificial intelligence, cyber security, and digital payments resounded.
Joanna Erdman, President of the Cashless Poland Foundation, highlighted that the Polish financial center’s choice of digital payments as one of the more important specializations is somewhat obvious. We have great achievements in this field. Fast and secure payments are today the basis of a competitive economy. Innovation in payments and progressive digitalization can become a catalyst for the development of our country.
” This is exactly why the Cashless Poland Foundation looks at the Future Finance Poland project with great interest. After six years of experience, we can share it with other markets in the development of payment infrastructure, but also in the creation of standards, exchange of knowledge, implementation of innovations and building a forum for cooperation, which is unique from my perspective to other markets. Modern payment tools support the development of new services, and thus give access to a wide range of new opportunities. Let’s share this with other countries while building greater recognition of Polish solutions and innovations.”
It was also mentioned many times at the Future Finance Summit that Poland’s strong assets, such as a mature and digitally advanced banking sector built up over the last 30 years, a high number of fintechs in operation compared to other CEE countries, and access to top IT experts, strengthen our position on the global innovation stage. However, we can achieve much more.
Pawel Widawski, CEO of FinTech Poland, emphasized:
“Technological advances, generational changes, globalization, and lifestyle transformation give Poland a unique opportunity to become a leader in the region and even on the global stage – however, this scenario requires joint work, consistency, and promotion.”
The next conference will take place in the last quarter of 2024, and the conclusions of the first Future Finance Summit will be discussed at a dedicated closed-door meeting scheduled for January 9, 2024.
