For many months, in collaboration with our partners, PKO Bank Polski and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, we diligently prepared to showcase the domestic financial innovation sector in Asia. The perfect opportunity arose at the world’s largest industry event, the Singapore Fintech Festival, held from November 15th to 17th this year.
To fully leverage the presence of a substantial Polish delegation, a day before the conference, in collaboration with the Global Fintech Institute and the Singapore Business Federation, we organized the Poland-ASEAN Fintech Forum. During this highly successful meeting with partners and potential collaborators from Southeast Asian countries, held under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore, we not only shared insights about Poland but, more importantly, engaged in discussions with representatives of the local market. The highlight of this event was the signing of an agreement to strengthen cooperation between FinTech Poland and the Global Fintech Institute, an international organization bringing together experts from the broader fintech domain, disseminating knowledge and promoting cooperation in this field.
Throughout SFF 2023, there was significant discourse about how the technological revolution, combined with generational changes, lifestyle and work model transformations, and shifts in the global economy, is opening new windows of opportunity for countries like Poland, which were previously positioned outside the centers of the global economic map. In the financial sector, such a window has opened widest, as technological transformation has propelled our financial institutions, including banks, into the elite ranks of the most digitally advanced in Europe and the world.
Paweł Widawski emphasizes, “Over more than 30 years, Poland has managed to create an incredibly solid, secure, and modern financial sector. We have the most developed capital market and insurance sector in the region. The fintech sector is thriving. It is crucial to showcase this, reinforcing our marketing and, at the same time, boldly stating that our ambitions extend much further.”
We firmly believe that participation in events such as the Singapore Fintech Festival and regular meetings with representatives of the Asian market is necessary to support Polish companies, fintechs, and banks in strengthening their positions.
