On June 9th, FinTech Poland HQ in Warsaw brought together a wide range of industry experts and fintech enthusiasts for a morning of real, production-level insights. The event attracted a strong turnout and sparked a genuine conversation about where payments are headed in the age of AI.
Rafał Kucharski, Engineering Manager at The Software House, shared a behind-the-scenes look at building a conversational payment agent for a fintech client – a solution shipped to production in just 5 months, complete with KYC safeguards and anti-hallucination guardrails. The discussion explored what actually changes when payments move from interfaces into AI-driven conversations. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Marek Gajda, COO at The Software House.
Panelists included Małgorzata Domagała, Vice President and Products & Solutions Lead for Poland, Czechia and Slovakia at Mastercard Europe; Matthias Horvath, Solution Business Analyst at Paymentology; Rafał Piotrowski from BNP Paribas; and Cezary Kosiński, Business Development Manager Europe at EFT Lab.
We discussed: Who owns the customer’s intent when an AI agent places an order? Accountability – what happens when something goes wrong? Will regulation enable or kill experimentation in finance? How real-world production implementations compare to concepts like Google AC2 What this shift toward AI agents means for existing payment rails.
